This week, we head back to World Championship Wrestling in the greatest year of professional wrestling – 1997.
It was a three-team elimination battle royal… or something. “Rowdy” Roddy Piper teamed up with the Horsemen – who were a separate team from WCW for some reason, which included the Giant, Lex Luger, and Scott Steiner. Where was Rick Steiner? “Injured!” And Team nWo consisted of Hollywood Hulk Hogan, Kevin Nash, Scott Hall, and Randy Savage. Dennis Rodman would also make his debut as a member of the nWo.
Sting would also finally choose a side – publicly – for the first time since September 1996. Good times!
