The Philadelphia Eagles wide receiving corps just got even more dangerous on Tuesday ahead of a crucial Sunday Night Football showdown with the Miami Dolphins.
Julio Jones signed with the team on Tuesday as a free agent, the team announced. Jones had been without a team since not being re-signed by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers following the 2022 NFL season.
The 34-year-old Jones is entering his 13th season after the Atlanta Falcons drafted him in the first round of the 2011 NFL Draft out of the University of Alabama. Jones has totaled 903 receptions for 13,629 yards and 81 touchdowns during his professional career, earning seven Pro Bowl selections and a spot on the NFL’s All-Decade Team for the 2010’s.
He played the first 10 years of his career in Atlanta before also featuring for the Tennessee Titans and Tampa Bay Buccaneers after that. Jones has led the NFL in receiving yards per game on three different occasions, and receiving yards for the season twice.
His best season came in 2015 when he totaled 136 receptions, 1,871 yards and 116.9 yards, which were all tops in the NFL
At 6-3 and 220 lbs, Jones adds great size and experience to the Eagles receiving corps, which already features A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith.
The Eagles will be seeking a bounce-back performance at Lincoln Financial Field on Sunday night after suffering their first loss of the 2023 season.
