The Philadelphia Eagles bolstered their receiving corps in a major way on Thursday afternoon.
Jahan Dotson was acquired by the Eagles in a trade with the Washington Commanders, both teams announced. In addition, the Eagles also received a 2025 fifth-round draft pick from Washington and sent the Commanders a 2025 third-round pick and two seventh-round picks.
Dotson was a former No. 16 overall pick by the Commanders in 2022. His rookie season saw Dotson register 523 yards and seven touchdowns in 12 games played. The former Penn State University standout total 49 receptions, 518 yards and four touchdowns last season.
At Happy Valley, Dotson was a talent for the Nittany Lions, recording 183 catches, 2,757 yards and 25 touchdowns in 42 games played. He also set a school record with 242 receiving yards in a November 7, 2021 Big-Ten matchup against the University of Maryland.
Nick Sirianni and Kellen Moore’s offense just got that much scarier with Dotson’s arrival in Philadelphia. He joins A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith in the receiving corps, as well as tight end Dallas Goedert and summer signing and star tailback Saquon Barkley in the offensive unit overall.
The Eagles open their 2024 regular season schedule on September 6 against the Green Bay Packers.
