1. Closing Soon: Cinedelphia Film Festival

The 2019 Cinedelphia Film Festival ends this weekend. The city-wide celebration of films and productions related to Philadelphia has beautifully highlighted the area for the entire month. There will be shorts, feature films, documentaries, live radio tapings, discussion panels, and Q&A groups, and more.

2. Philly Celebrates Jazz Events

Over the past few weeks, Philadelphia has been heralding the joys and power of Jazz. Jazz Appreciation Month continues to burn bright this weekend with several special events. This Friday there will be spoken-word-poetry performances at Rush Arts Philadelphia and more.

3. Manayunk Restaurant Week

When: Runs through Friday, April 26th

Manayunk Restaurant Week concludes next Friday. Various restaurants and eateries in the city are offering three-course lunches and dinners at $15, $25, and $35 rates. Come stop by this amazing area of the city for some flavorful and savory dishes at a wallet-friendly price.

4. Marian A Soul in a Song 80th Anniversary Lincoln Memorial Concert Tribute

Where: Independence Visitor Center, 599 Market St.
When: Friday, April 19th, 11AM

The city of Philadelphia commemorates the 80th anniversary of Marian Anderson’s Lincoln Memorial concert this Friday. Come to the Independence Visitor Center for this special free event that will include historical film clips, food, snacks, speeches, music performances, and more. This will be a phenomenal celebration of this Philadelphia songstress’ accomplishment.

5. Friday Night at the Philadelphia Museum of Art

When: Friday, April 19t, 5:45PM-7:15PM

The Philadelphia Museum of Art always offers up spectacular Friday night gathering each weekend. Its infamous halls will be filled with the splendor live music and a booming after-work soiree.  Nashville artist Dawn Landes will let her talent shine this Friday.

6. Tiny Room for Elephants Festival

Where: Cherry Street Pier, 121 N. Christopher Columbus Blvd.
When: Runs through Sunday, April April 21st

Cherry Street Pier provides great and entertaining events all year round. With the weather becoming friendlier, look out for the waterfront hotspot to be busier than ever. This weekend catch the Tiny Room for Elephants Festival. Which includes a Day Breakers PHL// Party Animals party, live performers, art shows, and more.

7. The Voices of Women in Flamenco

When: Friday, April 19th, 8PM-11PM

Pasion y Arte, Philadelphia’s premier all-female contemporary flamenco dance company, will be offering up an evening contemporary flamenco choreographed by PyA Artistic Director, Elba Hevia y Vaca. There will be plenty of live performers and the production will include a reception with wine and light refreshments.

8. Midnight Madness: The Exorcist

When: Friday, April 19th, 11:59PM

The horror classic, The Exorcist, will be featured this Friday night at the Ritz at The Bourse. The Midnight Movie series rolls along with this wicked tale of possession, ejectile vomit, and all the thrills you can handle. This screening will feature the extended Director’s Cut.

9. Comedy Juice 

Comedy Juice

Where: Punch Line Philly, 33 E. Laurel St.
When: Friday, April 19th, 9:45PM

Let us jump from horror into some amazing comedy! Punch Line Philly will be hosting Comedy Juice this Friday night. Comedy Juice has been “the number one show in both New York and Los Angeles for over a decade”. Come see the Philly lineup of this hilarious comedic showcase.

10. Good Good Comedy Theatre Weekend 

Weeding Out The Stoned: 4/20 Edition!

Where: Good Good Comedy Theatre, 215 N. 11th St.
When: Runs through Sunday, April 21st

Good Good Comedy Theatre is another laugh house serving up jokes, entertainment, and a good time this weekend. From Weeding Out the Stoned (on 4/20 of all days) to SNL’s Julio Torres’s two shows, there are some hilarious nights awaiting you at any of these events.

11. African American History and Culture Showcase

When: Saturday, April 20-Sunday, April 21st

This free admission event will be a traditional celebration like no other. The 2019 African American History & Culture will be an expo full of music, live performances, screenings, Q&As, discussions, and more. There will plenty of exhibits displaying the storied history and landmarks of black history in this country.

12. Philly Egg Hunt at Gorgas Park

Can you think of a better way to spend Easter weekend with your family on a wonderful egg hunt? One Gorgas Park will be hosting the massive Philly EasterHunt. There will be prizes, candy, and so much more at this all-ages hunt.

13. Stenton Easter Egg Hunt

Where: Stenton Park Playground, 4601 N. 18th St.
When: Saturday, April 20th, 1PM-3PM

Stenton Avenue will be having their annual Easter egg hunt this Saturday. The gardens of the historic park grounds will be flourishing with happy families all day. There will be plenty of egg dyeing, chocolates, activities, games, crafts, and historical lessons

14. Hop-A-Long Trail

When: Saturday, April 20th, 11AM-2PM

Franklin Square will have a unique and new Easter scavenger hunt this Saturday morning and afternoon. Children 10 and under will get a map, “carrot cards” and an Easter Egg box. They will team up to find their way through the square while picking up eggs along the way. There will be plenty of family-friendly activities and events throughout the day.

15. Philadelphia Oddities Market

When: April 20th, 11AM-7 PM

The Philadelphia Oddities Market is this Saturday. This unique and one-of-a-kind craft market will have skulls, jewelry, antiques, occult foods, taxidermy, collectibles, dark art, and more. There will be over 60 vendors at this collectibles fair.

16. Movie Trivia and Crawls

JJ Bootleggers and several bars will be asking you  25 multiple choice questions about “The Office” in this ultimate bar crawl quizzo fest. Milk Boy South Street will be hosting a  Coming to America quizzo night this Sunday.

17. Morris Arboretum Cherry Blossom Days

Where: Morris Arboretum of the University of Pennsylvania, 100 E. Northwestern Ave.
When: Saturday, April 20th, 10AM-3PM

The Morris Arboretum of the University of Pennsylvania will be hosting a Saturday of great cultural exploration. Cherry Blossom Day will be taking over the beautiful grounds. There will be a drumming ceremony, nature walks amongst the trees and flowers, a dressing demonstration, a samurai swordsman on the grounds, origami workshop, and more.

18. Montreal Impact vs Union

When: Saturday, April 20th, 1PM

The Philadelphia Union will be taking on the Montreal Impact this Saturday afternoon. The team will be looking to notch their fourth win of the season against their Eastern Conference opponent. Bring your enthusiasm, cheers, and passion to Chester, PA this Friday.

19. Sattriya Dance Company at the Barnes Foundation

The Saturday night, the Barnes Foundation takeover series returns better than ever. First up is Philadelphia-based Sattriya Dance Company. Co-founders Madhusmita Bora and Prerona Bhuyan will be performing a stunning routine full of culture, vibrancy, and glorious storytelling.

20. Ones to Watch Presents: Léon- You and I Tour 

Ones To Watch Presents: Léon - You And I Tour

Where: The Fillmore, 29 E. Allen St.
When: Saturday, April 20th, 8PM

Léon will be performing in front of a sold-out (re-sale availability) crowd this Saturday night. The Swedish singer-songwriter released her debut album this year after several successful EPs. If you’re looking for a talented vocalist and performer, The Foundry has you covered on Saturday night.

21. Cher

Speaking of talent, the icon and legend Cher will be taking over the Wells Fargo Center this Saturday night. This prolific musician and entertainer will be performing several of her countless hits and song renditions in front of a packed arena. The timeless wonder is sure to draw a heavy crowd.

22. Monster Jam

Lincoln Financial Field will be getting a monster truck makeover this weekend. Saturday night is Monster Jam, the world’s largest and infamous monster truck tour. World-class drivers compete on this rigorous track for glory and more each night. Come watch then engines get revved up and the crowd roar.

23. South Street Headhouse District Easter Promenade

Where: Parade starts at East Passyunk Ave. & South St. and ends at Headhouse Square, 104 Lombard St.
When: Sunday, April 21st, 12:30PM-2:30PM

The South Street Headhouse Square Easter Promenade takes place this Sunday. This is one of the most anticipated events of Easter weekend each year. The Philadelphia Freedom Band will be performing. There will be a bunny hop, Mr. and Mrs. Cottontail will be taking pictures with the kids, a best-dressed contest, food and drinks, and more.
