When Joshua Harris and co. took over the Sixers, there was a glimmer of hope for the future of the franchise. After ousting Doug Collins and Rod Thorn and bringing in Sam Hinkie, that glimmer of hope heightened, mainly because we were still sour from the Andrew Bynum deal.
Harris, of course, also owns the New Jersey Devils. But today, that’s not an issue, because Harris is now the person behind the biggest donation to the Philadelphia Police Athletic League, pledging $3.5 million. The announcement was made an hour ago as of this writing, and if any video of it becomes available, we’ll be sure to update this post.
