Moments ago, FOX Sports’ Ken Rosenthal tweeted out that the situation regarding the possible trade of Chase Utley would be coming to a head today. This is a day after Phillies general manager, Ruben Amaro, said Utley would likely be staying put.
“As I told you before, it is very likely he’ll be here in Philadelphia through the end of the year and then we’ll see what happens after that,” Amaro said on Tuesday.
It might be time. Get ready, Philly. Hold on to your butts.
UPDATE: CSN Philly’s Jim Salisbury says the Dodgers appear to be the frontrunner for Utley.
UPDATE II: CBS Sports’ Jon Heyman says a deal has been agreed upon. No details yet. It appears Utley and Rollins will be reunited.
Chase has also been stretching on the field with his teammates as I write this. I’m not sure he knows. He has to know. He has to.
UPDATE III: Ken Rosenthal makes it official.
Sweeney looks to be a hit or miss type of guy, but not an everyday player, according to Baseball America. Richy projects to be a backend starter in the rotation.
