The Jets Are Wearing Kelly Green Jerseys for Their Game against the Bills

Nooooooooooooooooooooooooo! Nooooooooo! Nooooo! Nooo! No! Not cool, Jets. Not cool at all.

There’s no doubt in my mind at least 85% of Eagles fans want to see the team return to their old colors of the early 1990s and don Kelly Green once again. We had a glimpse of how awesome that color looks on our football team in 2010 when the Eagles hosted the Packers in the home [and season] opener. And now, the Jets – who also wore Kelly Green in the past – have taken our dream and put it on hold, possibly for a long while.

Now, there’s no certainty the Eagles will ever return to Kelly Green. The fans want it… badly. I want it. You likely want it. Unfortunately, the same color means a lot to the Jets.

Green, needless to say, is very important to the Jets and their fan base, and Kelly Green has been an inspirational part of who the Jets are, with that color being worn from the start of the Jets era of the franchise in 1963 for 3½ decades through the 1997 season.

Does this mean the end of the Kelly Green hopes for our football team? Not necessarily. A lot of pro sports teams share the same color, and at least the Eagles and Jets are in different conferences, even though that shouldn’t really be a reason to not have both teams wear the same color. But, this almost seems like a kick in the balls. We’ve been told going back to Kelly Green is a long and arduous process. If the Eagles played on Thursday Night Football this season [the 12:30 game against the Lions on Thanksgiving doesn’t count], then would they have gone classic? Who knows. But, still. It hurts.

I hope the Bills score 100 points.
