We made it. We finally have a winner at home in the month of November. Last night, the Flyers hosted the Carolina Hurricanes on the same night the Stanley Cup-winning Hurricane and former Flyer, Rod Brind’Amour was inducted into the team’s Hall of Fame.
Of course, rumors speculate Brind’Amour was traded back in 2000 due to Eric Lindros sleeping with his wife. Yay rumors! But Rod The Bod was back in Philly last night.
Good work by Gost. Also, fantastic work by the Flyers in putting together the tribute to Brind’Amour. Here’s a fantastic video tribute to the newest member of the Flyers’ Hall of Fame.

As for Gostisbehere, our Flyers contributor, Kyle Phillippi penned the following:
The Philadelphia Flyers have recorded at least one point in four of their last five games.
Coincidentally, that’s the exact timeframe in which Shayne Gostisbehere has played since being called up from the Phantoms. Since his arrival, the team has gotten closer to playing a full 60 minutes and could easily have won some of those games had the puck bounced a few different ways.
His emergence shouldn’t surprise anyone, though.
The skill set he has really works with what first-year head coach Dave Hakstol wants – an offensive-minded defenseman that can start a rush but also be reliable on the back end.
So far, Gostisbehere fits the bill.
He’s almost doing it with ease, too. He has a pair of goals, none of which bigger than his game-winning overtime goal over the Carolina Hurricanes.
“He’s had an impact,” Hakstol said. “He finds a way to impact most games he’s been in offensively. I think he’s done a good job in defending and moving pucks out of the zone, some of the things that maybe don’t show up in the box score.”
With him in the lineup, the Flyers definitely look the part of an improved team and their recent collection of points suggest that, as well.
Now it’s a matter of seeing whether or not the team decides to keep him up with the big boys when Mark Streit gets healthy – as crazy as the thought of sending him back to Lehigh Valley may sound.
