The Philadelphia Eagles are already lining up head coaching candidates to interview with them. While John Harbaugh seems to have taken his name out of the running for next coach, one guy who may be a target of the Eagles if he becomes available is New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton.
He’s already gotten a key endorsement from a current Eagle and former Saint, Darren Sproles. Sproles talked at his locker on Wednesday when he was asked if he would welcome Payton if he were to somehow end up with the Eagles.
I think I know the answer to that already. But, per Eliot Shorr-Parks of NJ Advance Media, here’s what Sproles had to say: “Of course.”
Sproles would continue on about the type of guy Payton is:
The way (Payton) runs his offense. That’s kind of what we need here I think. He was a good guy to me. He is a hard nosed guy.”
Is Payton past his prime? Maybe. But, I wouldn’t be opposed to having him as our next head coach.
