Former and Current NFL Players Comment on LeSean McCoy’s Sensitivity

As we grow closer to Sunday when LeSean McCoy plays in Philadelphia for the first time since being traded to Buffalo, emotions are starting to grow. It’s mainly due to the fact that LeSean McCoy just can’t keep his trap shut about Chip Kelly and the Eagles. It’s getting really old too. I get the fact that he’s bitter about being traded, but at some point you have to just let it go. He’ll have his chance to show the Eagles what they’re missing on Sunday. That’s when the “talking” needs to happen.

Former Buffalo Bills running back Thurman Thomas had some advice for LeSean McCoy. Thurman saw Shady’s latest bitch and moan session with the media yesterday, in which Shady commented on whether he would or would not shake Chip Kelly’s hand when he saw him on Sunday. Thomas warned McCoy not to get too emotional. He said the following.

Obviously, going back to where he grew up is going to be a big, emotional day for him. But I told him today, I said, ‘You know what? The last time that the Bills and former players were emotionally high, was the New England game [which Buffalo lost 40-32 in Week 2], and we can’t allow ourselves to do that. You can’t allow yourself to get caught up into what’s going to be happening with the game. Especially with the crowd, and Chip, and all that. You have to go out and keep doing what you’ve been doing the past four or five weeks and you’ll be fine.'”

McCoy would be wise to listen to Thomas. This game isn’t just about McCoy and if McCoy lets his emotions get the best of him, he could put the Bills in danger of losing a game that they need to win.

Thomas wasn’t the only former player to comment on McCoy. Herm Edwards eviscerated McCoy (and DeMarco Murray) for their selfishness on Wednesday.

Current Bills running back Boobie Dixon spoke about McCoy a couple days ago. He spoke to ESPN.com’s Mike Rodak and had this to say.

Today he walked in the building, full of juice, full of energy. He walked pretty much in a lot of guys’ faces and just let us know, he need us this week. So I can’t wait, man. I’m excited.”

McCoy needs to get a damn grip on his feelings already. He’s way too sensitive and he’s setting himself up for a major letdown if the Bills fail to pull out a victory on Sunday.
