Major Shakeup at 94.1 WIP

Word just came down that 94.1 WIP Operations Director, Andy Bloom, has been fired. Andy Bloom was a major figure over at WIP, and was the on that lead to the hiring of controversial host, Josh Innes. Josh should be safe in this move as his contract has been picked up, but it is something we will keep an eye on as things come out and further develop.

While this may not make or break your Friday afternoon, it is of note as this past year has had major news and shifts between the two major Philadelphia Sports radio channels. It is now David Yadgaroff’s ship, and we will see where he steers it.

Sports Talk Radio “jumped the shark” many years ago. The overwhelming majority of it is unlistenable. The Stern wannabe’s, the screaming young guys looking to “make a name”, the grouchy, fake guy (Barkann, all of the Connecticut School of Broadcasting dweebs, the grating “Cuz” (with those brutal “my friend, Bob Moreno from Valley Green Bank ads) and the old pervert, Uncle Angelo. The medium is shot!!!!

I agree that those Bob Marino ads gotta go haha. Loved Angelo when all I had was Mike and Mike, but 97.5 all day now. Who cares about WIP?

WHO is garbage now, the only guys I do like aren’t on the major time slots. Barkann is clueless, Angelo still annoying.g as.all he’ll, I only like Glen and Ray, the.night guys, B D G is the man but 97.5 way better now

  4. Jamie Himmelberger

Josh Innes is the best sports talk host in the country, h hands down. 97.5 is terrible.

The only people I can stomach are Glen Macnow, Ray Didinger, and (I know I differ from some) Mike and Ike. The rest of them? Can’t switch it off soon enough. Wing Bowl is an utter disgrace and Josh Innes is awful – a narcissistic person who has no reason to be.

Innes is an ass, Angelo is a prev. The morning show is better when he’s off. Mike and Ike are good but Glen and Ray rule!

Josh (the Anus)Innis is the largest embarrassment to be called “sports talk”. He fights w his producer, as if he thinks his last name is Stern. I was waiting for Innis to call him pig vomit and say “WaaaNBC”. He’s a no talent hack. 97.5 from 6am-6pm.

I used to listen to WIP all day. Now I only tune in to the morning show, Howard Eskin and The prof and Ray Didi on Saturdays. occasionally I will listen to Mike and Ike, but I can’t stand the Josh Innes show. Nothing but a lot of noise.

Agreed.. Angelo’s show is the worst, horrible, and they really don’t have anybody knowledgeable on either station. They no zero about national sports and just retread the same Eagle obvious talk all day. Wretched.

To be honest with you all CBS national sports radio is the best sports radio hands down

Yeah? Im not a Doug Gottlieb fan at all. Love Boomer & Carton though. Are they on CBS radio as well?

I thank josh for introducing the fanatic to me. When I hear him, I switch over. I also switch over on Sunday mornings as rehashing 1950 high school legends are not interesting. Glenn and Ray are class acts. Josh has a great deal of knowledge, unfortunately he is classless
