The Redskins Are Probably Running One of Their “Fan” Sites

Put me in the not surprised category when news broke on Sunday that the Redskins may have mistakenly revealed that they’re running a Twitter account that was supposedly being run by their fans. I mean after all, Washington sucks and so do many in their fan base. Plus, they have a scumbag owner that thinks he can buy everything, so why not make up a fan site while he’s at it?

It all started when the “Redskins Facts” Twitter account, which is supposedly an account run by their fans, sent out a Tweet. That Tweet was deleted and then that same Tweet was then sent out from the Redskins’ main account. Here are the two Tweets:

Dan Steinberg/Washington Post
Dan Steinberg/Washington Post

Hmmmm… Something seems fishy here.

Here’s the Redskins Facts Twitter bio:

“RedskinsFacts.com is a growing online community of passionate Washington Redskins fans and others who support the team’s use of it’s name and logo.”

Sorry, Danny boy. You’ve been caught. I guess “others” in the bio means Redskins employees. Looks like someone in the Washington social media department will be out of a job.
