Your Week 15 Fantasy Football Review: The Bat Made Him Do It…

Week 15 is in the rear view mirror and the Playoffs are starting to take shape. In this Christmas week abbreviated week in review, we’ll take a look back at some bitch behavior from OBJ and some teams that are getting hot at the right time. Let’s take a look at the Week in Review.

Five key storylines from Week 15

We told you about Odell Beckham Jr.’s cheap shot on Josh Norman. But, Beckham was running around like a scumbag on the field all day on Sunday, that is of course when he wasn’t dancing around like a ballerina.

I’m aware of the talent that Beckham has, but please spare me the BS “you wish you had him on your team” nonsense. If a defensive player leaped off his feet and went helmet-to-helmet, you bet your ass they would’ve been ejected and suspended, no if, ands, or buts about it. But, because Beckham is a f’n God of receivers, he didn’t even get ejected.  Are you kidding me?

Beckham even tied the game up at 35 late in the fourth quarter when he shouldn’t have been playing at all.

The Panthers came right back after that to get the GW field goal. Still, Beckham and his hideous looking hair are an absolute disgrace.

Beckham was suspended on Monday for one game by the NFL. But don’t worry guys, it wasn’t his fault. The baseball bat made him do it…lol. GTFOH!

Eight in a Row –

Andy Reid’s Chiefs are absolutely EN Fuego right now, winning eight games in a row and they look like a very dangerous team. With a win against the Browns on Sunday, the Chiefs can clinch a playoff birth. You can bet your ass that no team will want to face them in the Playoffs. The Chiefs defense continues to be a monster. They’ve created 20 turnovers during this winning streak. They added another touchdown via a fumble recovery on Sunday against the Ravens.

Andy Reid had the following to say via ESPN.

“It’s a unique team that way. I like to think they feel opportunity, so their focus there is just tremendous when those things happen. I’d like to tell you that we’ve gone over every situation somewhere in camp, which we did. But I would just say the attitude there, the guys understand it, they do it. That’s the main thing.’’

Let’s see if Reid can do the one thing that he couldn’t in Philadelphia – win a Super Bowl.

Could you imagine Philly Sports Talk radio if that happened? Lord help us all!

Arizona is the Real Deal –

Speaking of dangerous teams, the Arizona Cardinals look like a team on a mission. They took care of the Eagles on Sunday with a decisive 40-17 victory. They’re a well balanced team. David Johnson led the way on the ground, with three touchdowns against Philadelphia. They have three talented wide receivers with Larry Fitzgerald, John Brown and Michael Floyd. Carson Palmer is playing at an elite level right now and he’s playing like this may be his last shot at a title. It looks like they’ll end up with a #2 seed in the NFC, but they’re a legit contender to represent the NFC in the Super Bowl.

Russell Wilson/Doug Baldwin are Championship Material –

Besides steam rolling through the competition on the way to the playoff birth that they clinched yesterday, the Seahawks offense looks absolutely scary, specifically Russell Wilson and Doug Baldwin. This pertains to both real life and Fantasy.  If you have either of these two or both on your team, you’re probably sitting real pretty right now. Baldwin has 11 touchdowns in the last six weeks. He’s accounted for 23, 12, 38, 26, 32 and 20 Fantasy points consecutively.

Wilson in his last five weeks has accounted for 19 touchdowns, while contributing with 31, 44, 39, 41 and 31 Fantasy points on his end. Holy cow!. The Hawks offense has not been hurt one bit by the loss of Jimmy Graham. In fact, they’re even better without him, as crazy as it sounds. Playoff teams beware! The Seahawks are out for blood.

I know that last week’s game against Philadelphia was LeSean McCoy’s Super Bowl, but I didn’t know it was Buffalo’s as a team as well. Washington took care of Buffalo on Sunday with a 35-25 win. Apparently, they don’t just have issues on the field – off the field has it’s own share of dysfunction as well. Head Coach Rex Ryan denied that there’s a rift with the General manager, but he does expect “drastic changes” to the team in the offseason.

Ryan had this to say via Syracuse.com after the game.

“If we don’t get better, the reality of it is this: This is professional. This is the National Football League, and unless we get a heck of a lot better, there’s going to be changes. That’s what I told them: There’s going to be drastic changes.”

Maybe they can start with having LeSean McCoy go through sensitivity training. His constant yapping is getting really old.

Waiver Wire Watch (*Keep an eye on, **Time to consider it, *** MUST Grab)

Each week, I will supply you with a list of players that you should consider adding from the waiver wire. Above, I listed the three tiers of players they are. So let’s take a look at the guys that you should be paying attention to. To qualify as a Waiver Wire guy, I’ll only consider those players that are owned in less than 60% of Yahoo! leagues at the time of this writing.

**Kirk Cousins (WAS – QB) – 24% owned – Cousins completed 22/28 passes for 319 yards and four touchdowns and added 11 yards and a touchdown on the ground in Sunday’s win over Buffalo. If you’re questioning your QB situation going into Championship Week, a juicy matchup against the Eagles makes Cousins an intriguing option this week.

***Ted Ginn, Jr. (CAR – RB) – 57% owned – Ginn has six touchdowns in the last three weeks making him a great flex option this week against a bad Falcons team.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t2I5Uxe1UXw

**Bilal Powell (NYJ– RB) – 21% owned – Powell has put up 24, 18 and 20 Fantasy points in consecutive weeks. It’s a risky play with the title on the line, but you could do a whole lot worse.

**Kamar Aiken (BAL– WR) – 57% owned – Aiken had eight receptions for 128 yards and one touchdown against a mean Chiefs D. Things won’t be easy this week against the Steelers, but if you’re in need a WR to replace an Odell Beckham,  Aiken could be your guy.

*James White (NYJ – QB) – 44% owned – White has 27, 13 and 20 Fantasy points in consecutive weeks. It’s always risky trusting Bill Belichick for Fantasy purposes, so grab White at your own risk.

Here are Week 15’s Studs:

Quarterbacks

Cam Newton (CAR vs. NYG) – Big time time players step up to the plate when their backs are against the wall. Newton was 25/45 for 340 yards and five touchdowns against the Giants. Cam will look to keep his Panthers perfect against the Falcons this week.

Kirk Cousins (WAS vs. BUF) – Cousins diced the Bills up this week. He has the Skins one win away from the NFC East crown. If he plays like he did this week, the Eagles will be in trouble.

Running Backs

Danny Woodhead (SD vs. MIA) – Raise your hand if you started Danny Woodhead this week. Yeah, I didn’t think so. Woodhead went off as he had eight rushes for 10 yards and one touchdown, along with six receptions for 50 yards and three touchdowns. Four touchdowns for Woody this week? I know anyone that played a team that happened to have him in their lineups is sick to their stomach right now.

David Johnson (ARI vs. PHI) – Speaking of stomach sickness, David Johnson crushed my Championship hopes in one of my leagues this week. He had 29 carries for 187 yards and three touchdowns. Damn you, David! Damn you!

Antonio Brown (PIT vs. DEN) – The Steelers are rolling right now. They’re my pick to represent the AFC in the Super Bowl. Led by Antonio Brown, who had 16 receptions for 189 yards and two touchdowns, they show no signs of slowing down.

Emmanuel Sanders (DEN vs. PIT) – My other mortal enemy of the week is Emmanuel Sanders, who decided to wake the hell up with 10 receptions for 181 yards and one touchdown this week. He crushed me this week.

Tight Ends

Jordan Reed (WAS vs BUF) – Reed is on fire right now. He had seven receptions for 84 yards and two touchdowns against the Bills. He proved me wrong this season. Keep him locked and loaded for Championship Week.

Defense/Special Teams

Kansas City Chiefs (vs. BAL) – The Chiefs defense continues to dominate opposing teams. This week they had two interceptions, one fumble recovery and two touchdowns for 20 Fantasy points.

Kickers

Stephen Gostkowski (vs. TEN) – He was 4/5 with FGA’s, with three extra points made for 16 total Fantasy points.

Here are Week 15’s Duds:

Quarterback

Aaron Rodgers (GB vs. OAK) – For the lone reason that he killed my season in one league, Aaron Rodgers is a dud. He was 22/39 for 204 yards with one touchdown and one interception. Ugh!!!!

Running Backs

DeMarco Murray (PHI vs. ARI) – This one is not so much on Murray because Chip Kelly only put him on the field for two plays. He had two carries for three yards. My how the might have fallen.

Wide Receivers

Danny Amendola (NE vs. TEN) –He got injured early on. He had one reception for three yards and -1 yard. I had him starting for me. I’ll never forget this!

Tight Ends

Richard Rodgers (GB vs. OAK) – Rodgers had one reception for seven yards. Terrible!

Defense

Philadelphia Eagles (vs. ARI) – There’s nothing wrong with losing to the Cardinals. But, giving up 40 points and having -6 Fantasy points is unforgivable.

Kickers

Brandon McManus (DEN vs. PIT) – Had no FGA’s and had three extra points for three Fantasy points. That helps no one.

Here’s a brief look at the results of Week 15 in the PhillyInfluencer.com Fantasy Football league:

Victorious Secret was too tough for me this week. He had big games from David Johnson and Emmanuel Sanders and that coupled with Aaron Rodgers and Danny Amendola doing squat for me – that’s all she wrote for me. In the other semi-final, Team Marino took out FeelMyBalls, SqueezeMyBalls 142-87. It’s only right that the Championship game will consist of the top two teams in the league.

Championship

#1 Seed: Team Marino vs. #2 Seed: Victorious Secret

Best of luck to both participants this week!
