Adrian Peterson Talks about the Child Abuse Incident with His Son

Prior to yesterday’s Vikings-Seahawks game, Adrian Peterson sat down on NFL Countdown, with reporter Josina Anderson to speak about the incident that led to him being him indicted on felony child abuse.

After the interview aired, Mike Ditka admitted Sunday that as a child his father whipped him and said that style of punishment made him a better person. He said that “he never had a problem with this” especially as it pertained to the Peterson case. Here’s Peterson addressing the issue.

Everyone’s parenting values are different. But when you see pictures of the abuse to the poor kid, you have to question whether the force used against him was justified. I mean c’mon! The kid was four years old. I think it says more about the abuser than anything. Per TMZ, according to the police report, “Peterson allegedly sent text messages to the child’s mother saying he “felt bad” because he struck the kid in the testicles.”

Sorry, but that doesn’t sit well with me. So while ESPN may give him a pass on this one, I certainly don’t.
