So a funny thing happened this morning. I was reading about an update from Adam Schefter earlier today about who Schefty gets a sense will be the next Eagles’ coach and I glanced over some potentially big news in regards to Chip Kelly. My mind was so focused on what Schefter had said regarding our potential coach, that it took me a bit to process what he had to say about Kelly.
In his interview with the 97.5 The Fanatic Morning Show today, Schefter gave his thoughts on what’s next, or should I say what’s not next, for Kelly.
Listen, he’s interviewed there, and you know Tom Gamble would like to see that get done there in San Francisco, [but] I don’t believe Chip Kelly is going to wind up with a head coaching job in the NFL in this offseason period here. I think San Francisco is going to go in a different direction. Where else has Chip interviewed? That’s it, right? No, I don’t think he’s going to get that job. I don’t think he’s going to be the guy in Tennessee either.”
It’s not looking good for good ol’ Chipwich. I mean are you surprised? While I think eventually that he’ll end up back with a NFL head coaching job, the pure carnage that he left back in Philadelphia seems to (and rightfully so) scared the bejesus out of potential teams that had head coaching vacancies.
players are so soft these days
