BREAKING: The Eagles Have Finally Hired a New Head Coach

And the winner is…. Doug Pederson.

According to a report from Les Bowen, Doug Pederson is set to become the next Eagles’ head coach.

Ian Rapoport confirms.

More.

Pederson cannot officially be hired until the Kansas City Chiefs’ season is over. They play the Patriots this weekend. He is the Chief’s offensive coordinator, in case you didn’t know. He took over playcalling after the Chiefs fell to 1-5, and now the Chiefs have won 11 straight games. Coincidence? Not to Andy Reid.

Doug Pederson has done a great job. I’ve watched him grow from being a player for me, now as a coach, and each year he’s done this thing — now a coordinator — he’s growing,” Reid said. “Unfortunately, he’s got a head coach who’s an offensive guy, so he doesn’t get enough credit for what he does, but I have full trust to turn the whole game over to him and let him call.

“It’s something I enjoy doing,” Reid added, “but I have full trust in him doing it.”

He’s got the full trust of Andy Reid. We’re in good hands. Right? RIGHT!?

More coming.

YES! I think he will be a great coach. It’s not the ‘sexy’ hire, but it’s the right one, in my opinion. Doug P. has done quite well as a position coach and OC and gotten a lot of praise along the way. Coming from Big Red’s camp makes it that much sweeter for me. I am happy
