BREAKING: WIP’s Josh Innes Suspended for Three Days

In case you missed it yesterday, Josh Innes called Jason Kelce a “house negro.” Kelce responded to the outrageous comments last night. You can see those comments here.

Innes issued a politician-like apology last night, but it didn’t matter. There are some lines that you just can’t cross and Innes crossed that line yesterday. He’s been suspended for three days, according to Philly.com:

Comments made by Josh Innes during his WIP-FM program yesterday in regards to Eagles center Jason Kelce were inappropriate and unacceptable,” WIP said in a statement. “We do not condone or approve of those comments.

There you have it. Filling in for Josh today, and probably the next three days, is Jody McDonald.

He should be permanently removed from the airways. He has been and continues to be unprofessional in his approach to Philadelphia radio. His Howard Stern stick is inexcusable

I seriously hope this is the end of Josh Innes and his incomprehensible, stuttering-sidekick, Hollis Thomas. They are far and away the worst of all of sports radio in Philadelphia, which has gone from insightful, balanced, SPORTS coverage and commentary to 24/7 hate-bashing. Any comparison to Howard Stern is absurd. Howard Stern is one of the most insightful interviewers of all time. Josh Innes couldn’t land an interview with Honey Boo Boo. Listening to Josh Innes for 3 hours is worse than serving a life sentence with a woman who’s PMSing 24/7, 365 days a year.

I wish he was fired instead of suspended. This guy has no relevance in Philadelphia sports. Every day its the same thing. He bashes every Philly team and how they handle things. He has been bashing the Eagles since they hired Pederson and all of the assistants he picked. How the heck does he know that Pederson is going to be a bad coach? Nobody knows yet. Sure it wasn’t the popular choice for coach, but I will save my bashing for if he does a bad job. Innes is an idiot who hides behind a microphone. I would like to see him say that to Kelce’s face.

There should have been no suspension in my opinion. He said NOTHING offensive. The station is just reacting in an overly politically correct manner because the station heads FEAR a REAL CONVERSATION about race. Josh Innes’ understanding of race and racism, while FAR FROM PERFECT is FARR BETTER THAN MOST other personalities’ understanding on the station. Josh’s — USE of the analogy was oh so perfect to illustrate the point he was trying to get across. He apologized because so many others (listeners and station managers) are so racially tone deaf that they didnt get the reference. Its ignorance and cowardice that’s behind his suspension.

You guys get banned from KS too?? Loser banned me for saying this site was good in his (anything goes) comment section

This site much better than CB. Better and faster reporting, much better looking and it loads faster. The comment section is fine but what’s the reason for not using a service like Disqus for the comments? Is it a cost issue?

Yeah Kyle Scott gets his shit-stained tighty whities in a bunch whenever Philly Influencer is mentioned on his shitty blog.

But truthfully speaking, the influencer has influenced me to stay away from crossing broad.

Please tell us the REAL CONVERSATION about race that Josh Innes was trying to have.
