The Eagles’ Reported New Hire May Shed Light on Their Next Head Coach

Ken Flajole was expected to be named the defensive coordinator at UTEP today, but reportedly has agreed to join the coaching staff of the Eagles. From SB Nation’s UTEP blog, MinerRush:

Sources indicated to MinerRush that Flajole would not be coming to UTEP after receiving a last minute offer to become an assistant with the Philadelphia Eagles, and it was confirmed by Sean Kugler at the coaches’ introductory presser.

Flajole has bounced around the NFL for the better part of the last two decades, and it was only a matter of time before the coach was back coaching on Sunday’s.

Flajole’s reported hiring, if true, could signal the beginning of some announcements from the Eagles. Flajole was an inside linebackers coach with the Browns this past season. He was the defensive coordinator with the St. Louis Rams from 2009-2011. He’s worked with Pat Shurmur in St. Louis and Doug Pederson in Green Bay.

Shurmur? Pederson? Both? Yikes.

And it sounds like no reporters know what’s happening. What the hell is going on?
