Brandon Brooks said that Philadelphia is like a smaller, cleaner version of New York.
Well played sir, you’re off to a great start!
The Philadelphia Eagles introduced the mammoth guard Brooks and outside linebacker Nigel Bradham to the city on Friday.
Brooks, who signed a five-year, $40 million deal, explained that he “felt wanted” and linemen Jason Peters, Lane Johnson and Jason Kelce all texted him in an attempt to recruit the 340-plus pounder.
The 26-year-old also believes that offensive line coach Jeff Stoutland can help take his game to the next level.
“He’s an intense, fiery guy,” he said. “Throughout my career, intense fiery guys with my effort get the best out of me.”
Brooks also took the time to thank the fans on Twitter earlier in the day.
Overwhelmed with all the love from Eagles fans ✊🏽. I appreciate it and can't wait. Don't worry I didn't forget my hard hat and lunch pail.

Bradham signed a two-year pact with the Eagles and is hoping to bounce back from a lackluster season where he wasn’t quite a fit in Rex Ryan’s scheme in Buffalo. This was a year after having the best season of his four-year career under current Eagles defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz in 2014 when he posted a career-high 104 tackles, 2 1/2 sacks and an interception.
“He (Schwartz) lets me play free and aggressive,” Bradham said. “The scheme fits me perfectly.”
Bradham noted that he’s “a lot more aggressive” than former Eagles linebacker Kiko Alonso and should be a good fit for the city.
“I feel like my style of play will fit this city pretty well, with the toughness, my mentality, work hard,” he said.
Bring those lunch pails to work boys!
