The Wentz Wagon continues to pick up steam.
And NFL Network’s Mike Mayock didn’t slam the brakes following Carson Wentz’s impressive Pro Day on Friday.
He claimed that Wentz had “one of the most outstanding quarterback Pro Days” he’s ever seen and compared Wentz’s athleticism to Carolina Panthers’ Cam Newton and the Indianapolis Colts’ Andrew Luck.
"He's 237 pounds, and he's every bit as athletic as Andrew Luck or Cam Newton." –@MikeMayock https://t.co/zrF6YWHFaE

NFL.com senior analyst Gil Brandt agreed with Mayock.
One of the best pro days I've ever witnessed. Wentz reminds me of Joe Flacco. He had 2 55-yard passes that were as pretty as I've seen.

A lot of people asking what the best QB pro day I have ever seen. It was Sam Bradford's. Best I had seen since @TroyAikman's.

The North Dakota State product Wentz, who went 63-of-65 during his workout with a drop and an overthrow, didn’t see his first pass touch the ground until throw No. 45.
Mayock also talked about the strength of Wentz’s arm, saying that it’s the strongest in the class behind Paxton Lynch. He stated that if Joe Flacco’s arm is a nine-plus out of 10 and Lynch’s is an eight-plus, then Wentz would be an eight.
So the high praise continues for a quarterback with just 23 starts and 612 pass attempts at the FCS level.
The Eagles, of course, have been linked to Wentz and rumored to be in the running of possibly trading up for the No. 1 pick.
