The Flyers Rally to Stun the Avalanche with Three Third Period Goals

The Flyers got two goals from Radko Gudas and Claude Giroux 19 seconds apart late in the third period last night, as the Flyers won a huge game for them against the Avalanche, 4-2. Gudas remained hot as he had his fifth goal in the past 10 games. He tied the game at 2-all at the 14:17 mark of the third and then Giroux scored the game-winner at 14:36.

They also received a goal from Pierre-Edward Bellemare, as they kept pace with the Detroit Red Wings for the second wild card spot in the Eastern Conference. The Flyers had three third period goals and managed to get this bounce back win.

Flyers coach Dave Hakstol spoke after the game. Here’s what he had to say, courtesy of TSN.

We got through (the fatigue). You saw how short the shifts were, and that’s typical when you come into this building. As we got into the second period we got our second wind and pushed the envelope.”
