Philly’s own Kevin Hart is one of the hardest workers in the entertainment industry. He’s all over the place with movies, television and he can be spotted at many sporting events. If you think that’s going change any time soon, you better think again. A report from Variety indicates that Comedy Central has announced that it has picked up two series featuring popular comic Kevin Hart.

According to Complex, “Hart will star in an eight-episode series entitled Hart of the City and an untitled six-part stand-up docuseries for the network.” On Hart of the City, Hart will be “hanging out with local comedians in Atlanta, Birmingham, and other blossoming comedy scenes across the nation to give viewers a feel for each region’s distinctive vibe.”
If you’ve followed Hart’s work, you’ll know that he comes across as a very likable guy to most people. Hart graduated from George Washington High School in Northeast Philadelphia in 1997, where I went to school with him, and has been grinding ever since. Hart has starred in a laundry list of shows and movies, including: Ride Along 1 and Ride Along 2, Real Husbands of Hollywood, The Wedding Ringer, Central Intelligence and many more.
Philadelphia gets such a bad rap all across the country for many things, so I love watching the rise of Hart. It’s essentially a middle finger to all the Philly haters out there. We at Philly Influencer wish Hart nothing but the best with all that he chooses to do as he continues to make the city proud.
