Couples have been meeting online for years, but it has become an even more prominent with social media apps (ie: Tinder, Grindr, Scruff, OkCupid, Hinge etc.).
To quote eHarmony’s Dating and Relationship expert Melanie Schilling in a Huffington Post Australia report:
While technology has certainly done amazing things to the dating world, it’s important for singles to remember not to hide behind technology, to treat others with respect and to present themselves honestly and proudly online.
Dating app programmers have been quickly individualizing their digital matchmakers to fit a person’s needs whether they are looking for a hook up or an everlasting romance. But what happens when interests take a priority over looks?
The new app “DragonFruit” is a dating software configured by geeks for geeks. Users are offered an experience that focuses on your geekdom rather than a blanket “about me” section, which doesn’t always fully explain your interests. Upon signing up, the user has to define three of their “geekdoms”.

Are you a trekkie? Or maybe you’re more into Game of Thrones? Based on these choices as well as age and gender preferences, users will be matched with their Clark Kent’s and Daenerys Targaryen’s of the world. So if you’ve been looking for the Han to your Leia, this app will most definitely help speed up that process.
love the app, can’t wait for it to get even better!
