Audio: Joe Theismann Roasts Sam Bradford

Joe Theismann, who doesn’t pull any punches it would seem, was on SiriusXM NFL Radio Saturday and was talking about his team’s quarterback, Kirk Cousins. The host never brought up Sam Bradford, but since they were on the subject of quarterbacks, Theismann went after Bradford. Someone should check on Sam. Not sure he can handle this. Listen to the audio below, beginning around the 57-second mark.

Here’s the transcript if you can’t listen to the audio:

I cannot believe what Sam Bradford is doing with the Philadelphia Eagles. The impression that I get is that this guy here doesn’t wanna compete. He’s not interested in playing quarterback. He’s not interested in competing at the quarterback position. He wants it handed to him on a silver platter. Well, that’s not the way life is. The Eagles owe him no explanation. And if you think you’re that good, you should be able to beat out a rookie who has no earthly idea what the NFL looks like.

“If the Redskins drafted somebody No. 1, and I was Sam Bradford, I’ve already banked $98 million, I’d be like, ‘Bring it on, guys. Bring it on.'” It’s disappointing to me, because I like Sam. Heck, last year I did a radio show in Philadelphia. I said Sam Bradford has the ability to be a Pro Bowl player. Then, all of a sudden Tom Condon, his agent, comes out and says, ‘Well, the Eagles had a right to notify’ – bologna. Strap your chin strap on, put your helmet on, put your jock on, and go out and compete like somebody who wants the job. Don’t gripe about, ‘Oh, I’m not going to go to OTAs. I’m not gonna do this.’ How about doing something instead of not doing something? I am just so upset over this kind of bologna from young guys. Whatever happened to having a job be important to you that you’ll do anything?”

Get him, Joe! Yeah, I still think Bradford is a clown. There’s almost nobody on his side in this. I’m not counting Mike Missanelli because he’s taking Bradford’s side because he has a radio show five days a week. But, people are just piling on him now.

Bradford will supposedly be back for voluntary workouts today.
