The hope for the Eagles’ future is on the arm of Carson Wentz. We know that Sam Bradford hasn’t been happy since the Eagles made the trade with the Browns to move up to pick two, but who cares what Bradford feels? He has one job to do and that’s to shut the hell up and play. Since being drafted by the Eagles on Thursday night, Wentz has had all of the right things to say. But how much does Wentz know about Bradford? Thankfully, not much since Bradford is an average quarterback at best and the last thing that we need is Wentz watching a lot of tape of that schmo play. Wentz was recently asked about how much he knows of Bradford, and let’s just say if he was quizzed on him, he’d fail with flying colors.
Yeah, I’ve seen him play a little bit. Obviously I know he was a top pick and everything, not too many years ago, and obviously I know he was with the Rams and everything, and now here. But you know, I haven’t watched a ton of film on him. I watched a lot of film on guys like Brady and Manning and Rodgers, those types of things. So I don’t know as much as some of the other guys.”
Here’s translation of that comment: Sam Bradford sucks, so I won’t watch much tape of him. However, I will watch tape of the greats like Brady, Manning and Rodgers. I love it!
Right now, there’s just not much to not like about the kid. Hopefully, Eagles’ management gives him the pieces around him that he needs to make it big-time in the league and I think they will do that, considering all of the picks that they gave up to get him.
