Wendell Smallwood Already Apologized for His Offensive Tweets Directed at Philly

You always here people say be careful what you post on social media because it may come back to haunt you. Newest Eagle and former West Virginia running back Wendell Smallwood (drafted in the fifth round of the NFL Draft) found himself in some how water this weekend when some old offensive tweets about Philadelphia came to light.

His Twitter account has since been deleted.

Howie Roseman released the following statement:

We are aware of the social media statements Smallwood made. We don’t condone them. We have no doubt or concern about what kind of person Smallwood is.”

Smallwood has also apologized for the Tweets. Here he is talking to CSN Philly’s Derrick Gunn, “clearing the air.”

We have all done dumb things when we were young. Obviously, the Eagles like what they see from his character now, so I think we should cut him some slack and see where this young man goes from here.

    Clean slate and let the guy prove his worth on the field. We like and want winners. In a few years the sports scene in PHL will be th envy of the country and not the disdain!
