The Sixers Begin Their Post-Sam Hinkie Era with Two Hires

Bryan Colangelo is finally beginning to put his pieces in place in the Sixers’ front office, signifying the beginning of the post-Sam Hinkie era. The new Sixers’ president of basketball operations and general manager has hired the NBA’s associate vice president of basketball operations, Ned Cohen, according to Adrian Wojnarowski.

Former Washington Wizards vice president of scouting, Marc Eversley, is also being hired and will become the vice president of player personnel.

According to Liberty Ballers, Cohen was third in command under NBA commissioner, Adam Silver. He’s very well thought of in NBA circles. It looks like it’s a coup for the Sixers to get him.

But now will come the question if the Sixers begin to put a contender on the court – is this Sam Hinkie’s doing or did Colangelo turn the franchise around? Hell, I welcome that debate because it would mean the Sixers are legitimate contenders. And I’m sure we’re all desperate for that.
