The Nationals swept the Phillies for the second consecutive series this past weekend. On Sunday, however, the Phillies had a chance to salvage a win after Maikel Franco hit his 10th home run of the season in the top of the ninth inning to put the good guys ahead, 4-3.
Cody Asche, who homered earlier in the game, figured it was an opportune time to say something mean to Papelbon.
Pretty awesome and hilarious, right? Not so fast.
Jayson Werth responded with his own, “F— you!” in the bottom of the 9th.
And so the season goes. But, hey, we’ll always have Asche yelling, “F— you!” to Paps.
