Flyers Add South Jersey Native to Roster

The Flyers began free agency on Friday by signing Dale Weise and Boyd Gordon to bolster – hopefully – their team up front. Today, they signed Willingboro native TJ Brennan, a defenseman who played with the Toronto Maple Leafs and AHL’s Toronto Marlies last season, to a multi-year contract. Flyers general manager Ron Hextall announced the move moments ago.

Brennan played most of last year in the AHL, scoring 68 points with 25 goals and 43 assists in 69 [nice] regular season games. He led the Marlies in scoring, along with all AHL defensemen. He won the Eddie Shore Award as the AHL’s outstanding defenseman, and led the Marlies to the Conference Finals in the Calder Cup playoffs.

He’s played 53 games in the NHL, netting 13 points with five goals and eight assists. He’s played with the Sabres, Panthers and Maple Leafs.
