We thought this might be the case when the Phillies put Aaron Nola on the disabled list August 3 with a strained elbow. Now, it looks like his season is finished. He was transferred to the 60-day DL and the Phillies also optioned Elvis Araujo to Triple-A while selecting the contract of right-hander Frank Herrmann.
Nola has low grade UCL sprain and low grade flexor strain. Saw Dr. Andrews Monday. Had PRP injection. No surgery. Shut down for rest of '16.

Asked if he was confident for Nola for April, Klentak said they're just going with the rest, ramping him back up rout and see how it goes.

"I'm glad it's not surgical," said Nola, who has maintained an optimistic viewpoint throughout.

We hope he comes back ready to go next season. The Phillies need him desperately.
