The Philadelphia Eagles made 10 roster moves on Sunday, including eight releases and a few of them were a surprise to many.
Veterans Rueben Randle and Chris Givens, who signed one-year, prove-it deals during the offseason, were two of the cuts. Eagles head coach Doug Pederson explained his decision to part ways with them.
Seniority usually rules in the NFL and Turner was undrafted. I give the head coach Pederson a lot of credit for taking a bold stance, going against the grain and keeping the youthful undrafted rookie Paul Turner around. Turner has hauled in 11 passes for 99 yards over the first three preseason games, which has been more than the total production of Givens and Randle combined. Randle caught five balls for 26 yards, while Givens made just one reception for 19 yards.
