Here’s Why Nelson Agholor Won’t Play in the Final Preseason Game

If there’s a player on the Philadelphia Eagles that could use some extra reps to at least build some confidence heading into the regular season, it’s Nelson Agholor.

Eagles head coach Doug Pederson feels differently, however, and explained why Agholor probably won’t play against the New York Jets in the Eagles’ preseason finale Thursday night during his press conference on Monday. Agholor is “right on track and where he needs to be,” according to the head coach, and despite the drops and struggles to create separation during the preseason, Pederson likes the little things he’s seeing.

Agholor has just two receptions for 30 yards in the preseason and didn’t catch a pass in two of those games, including Saturday night against the Indianapolis Colts, who were without six cornerbacks and both starters.

Dorial Green-Beckham will see some time as he should considering he’s new and still learning the playbook. I also agree that Josh Huff should see some action as well. Pederson also stated that linebackers Mychal Kendricks and Stephen Tulloch will suit up on Thursday.
