Eagles Sign the Soul’s Jake Metz

From ArenaBowl XXIX winner to getting signed with the Philadelphia Eagles and a chance to make the NFL, it’s been quite a week for Jake Metz.

Philadelphia Soul owner Ron Jaworski confirmed the signing via his Twitter account.

The Souderton High School graduate Metz, who led the Arena Football League with eight sacks, had a workout with the Eagles Monday.

The defensive lineman had the play of the game in the ArenaBowl when he stripped Mykel Benson around the goal line before Dwayne Hollis recovered it and ran it 49 yards the other way for a score.

Soul wide receiver Darius Reynolds also had a workout with the Eagles Monday, but there was not word on whether or not he was signed, although it appears he did not with Jaws only tweeting about Metz.
