Bye Week Blues: This Is the Worst Bye Week Ever

It’s one thing for it to be ridiculously early, which is absurd in itself. It’s only Week 4, the bye week never comes before I take a sip of pumpkin beer. But this new-look Philadelphia Eagles led by rookie quarterback Carson Wentz has taken the league by storm.

They’re outscoring opponents 92-27, by far the best margin in the NFL. They just blew out the Pittsburgh Steelers 34-3.

A most inopportune bye week indeed.

So what do we Eagles fans do?

Nothing during the season causes more impatience than the bye week. And with the promising start, many Eagles fans are so fired up by what they’ve seen that they’ve begun to hallucinate. Unfortunately, I don’t see Wentz holding that Lombardi Trophy this season.

A few years from now, though …

Maybe I’m starting to hallucinate.

Here’s what you need to do; ENJOY THE SEASON!

I haven’t had this much fun as an Eagles fan since Donovan McNabb was the quarterback. Wentz is so much fun to watch, the command he has of the huddle for a rookie is unprecedented. The defense is firing on all cylinders, allowing just nine points per game. Head coach Doug Pederson is utilizing his personnel on offense to perfection so far.

Wentz looks like the best quarterback in the division and the Eagles look like the best team in the division.

Who knows what’s in store for 2015, but a 10-6 mark and a playoff appearance is a lot more than I could’ve asked for prior to the season. Once Sam Bradford was traded, this was supposed to be a throwaway year and all about the progression of Wentz.

Not anymore.

I’ve had a blast so far, can’t wait to see what’s upcoming on the horizon.
