Jim Schwartz’s defense made an immediate impact during the preseason.
Hopefully the Philadelphia Eagles saved some of their stellar play during the regular season.
The Eagles allowed only 56 points and forced nine interceptions, the most of any NFL team by two. Four of those picks made my top 10 list.
As for others that cracked the top 10, I’ve got some Carson Wentz and Dorial Green-Beckham sprinkled in and the top two plays went to players that aren’t even on the 53-man roster.
Let’s run down the top 10 plays of the Eagles’ preseason:
10. Carson Wentz’s first NFL completion
Carson Wentz’s first completion was a beauty. He stepped up in the pocket, kept his eyes downfield and flipped the pass to Zach Ertz along the right seam.

9. A Means streak
Steven Means showcased his quickness, balance and pass rushing ability all preseason. Check out the quick spin before closing in on Mike Glennon, who threw an interception to Chris Maragos.

8. The legitimate red zone threat in DGB
We saw glimpses of what Dorial Green-Beckham could provide in 2016. No, he’s not going to grasp the entire playbook this quickly, but you can limit his route tree and let him do what does best, leap up and snatch fades in the back corners of the end zone using his athleticism, body control and strong hands at the catch point. Philadelphia hasn’t had a legitimate red-zone threat since Terrell Owens, here’s his first touchdown as an Eagle.
It’s been a while since the Eagles had a red-zone threat. That was too easy! pic.twitter.com/yBJz5TydKf

7. Wentz looks good under pressure
This was Wentz’s best throw of the night in his lone appearance against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the first preseason game. He recognized the rusher immediately, escaped the pocket and delivered an accurate strike with plenty of velocity on it. People may not realize how difficult that throw was, but Wentz made it look routine.

6. Nolan Carroll takes it to the house
Nolan Carroll’s pick-six checks in at No. 6. Carroll read Landry Jones’ eyes, cut in front of the receiver and hauled in the interception and easy touchdown.

5. Turner [we thought] was a keeper
Paul Turner did all he could to make the Eagles’ roster and initially made it onto 53, but was waived Sunday. This was his 71-yard punt return touchdown from Thursday night.

4. Nelson! Ha ha!
We have one of the few Nelson Agholor highlights at No. 4. He climbed the ladder for this insane 22-yard catch.

3. Jenkins and McKelvin team up for an interception
Here’s Malcolm Jenkins’ pick where he hauled in the ricochet of Leodis McKelvin’s pass breakup in the back right corner of the end zone.

2. Grymes’ stellar interception
Aaron Grymes’ interception was the prettiest, check out this pick in the back right corner of the end zone. Unfortunately, Grymes hurt himself on this play and was subsequently waived.

1. Because Paul Turner had a hell of a preseason
Everybody’s favorite preseason story gets the No. 1 spot on the list. This one-handed snag against the Steelers was ridiculous.
