After returning to the NBA a year ago in a player/mostly mentor role for the Sixers, the organization resigned Elton Brand again for the 2016-17 season. However, it turns out he won’t be a part of the team, at least in a playing capacity, anymore. The 1999 top overall pick announced his retirement on Thursday afternoon at the Sixers’ practice facility.
