Always an interesting part of the MLB Winter Meetings is the Rule 5 Draft, which was held Thursday morning. The Phillies 40-man roster was at maximum occupancy therefore the team could not make any selections, however, they could lose players if they were selected by other teams.
Only one Phillie was selected.

Milner is a young arm who reached as high as Triple-A Lehigh Valley in his career, which he did in the 2016 season.
Following the major league portion of the draft, was the minor league Rule 5 Draft, which the Phillies could partake in. The team’s selection in the Triple-A portion came quickly.

Flores is a 25-year old shortstop who was in the Toronto Blue Jays organization. The highest he has reached was Double-A in his professional baseball career.
Other minor additions and losses came in the lower levels of the Rule 5 Draft for the Phils, but overall a relatively quiet one for the team.
