Ryan Mathews has been practicing this week, and the Eagles’ running back says he’s good enough to return to the field when the Eagles host the Redskins at The Linc on Sunday.
“I”m good enough to practice and go. It’s just about getting back into a rhythm and getting the timing down. I missed two weeks and that’s kind of hard. I’m just trying to get back into a groove of things.”
…
“It would be awesome [to finish strong]. That’s what you want to do. I’m just going to take it one game at a time, one day at a time and try to get better as the games go along and just try to finish up strong.”
The Eagles’ running game has suffered in Mathews’ absence after he was injured in Seattle. Getting him back would be good news for the offense, but the Redskins have completely owned the Eagles the last two-plus years. If Mathews is active, he better being his A+ game.
