The Philadelphia Eagles might’ve just gotten their replacement for Darren Sproles.
The Eagles traded up seven spots in the fourth round, moving up from 139 overall to 132 and selected San Diego State running back Donnel Pumphrey, who surpassed Ron Dayne on the all-time college football rushing yards list last season.

Pumphrey is just 5’8, 175 pounds, so he’s going to be a change-of-pace back at the next level. He’s great in space after the catch and is at his best running the outside zone, one of the Eagles’ bread-and-butter running plays. The diminutive 33-year-old Darren Sproles said that the 2017 season will be his last in December. The 5’6 Sproles is the third oldest running back in the NFL behind Frank Gore and DeAngelo Williams.
