The Eagles Take Big-Play Wide Receiver Shelton Gibson in the 5th Round

The Philadelphia Eagles have acquired a pair of vertical threats at the wide receiver position with their first three picks on Day 3 of the NFL Draft.

DGB should be sweating!

After selecting Mack Hollins with their first pick in the fourth round, the Birds traded back twice in the fifth round before taking West Virginia wide receiver Shelton Gibson.

Gibson was third in college football last season in yards per catch (22.1) and 36 percent of his receptions have gone for 25-plus yards the last two years. He has the ability to run by you on go-routes and can adjust to the football when it’s in the air.

The Eagles picked up an extra fifth-round pick and are now picking 214th overall in the sixth round instead of 230.

You can check out my live reaction of the Gibson pick below.
