UPDATE: Sixers Sign JJ Redick and Amir Johnson

It’s happening, folks.

JJ Redick has agreed to a one-year, $23 million deal with the Sixers, according to ESPN’s newest hire, Adrian Wojnarowski.

Redick tweeted shortly after the news dropped.

And what did Redick say to ESPN in a text message? “It’s where I wanted to be.”

Oh, yes. Yes. Yes. It’s happening. And this is a fantastic deal for both Redick and Bryan Colangelo. The Sixers have plenty of money to spend, aren’t committed to Redick long-term, and can even re-sign him on a cheaper deal next offseason if he’s impressed with the team this season and wants to stay.

The Process may as well officially be over. It’s now about The Progress. And while the Sixers’ roster is clearly oversaturated now, the team that takes the court in October should be a hell of a lot of fun to watch.

The team has over $25 million left in cap space. I’m thinking more one-year deals. After all, that’s what they’re after.

LET’S GO!

Here’s some reaction from the players:
