Parks on Tap Final Week: Shakespeare Park

The hours are Wednesday and Thursday  5 – 10PM, Friday and Saturday 1 – 11PM, and Sunday 12 – 10PM

Parks on Tap is officially closed for the season. However the pop up beer garden will be pushing through this week at Shakespeare Park to pair with the ongoing Fireflies exhibit. Parks on Tap Jr. will have all the beverages to combine with the colorful bike rides circling the parkway.

Philadelphia is a major spanning city. It’s always brimming with exiting new activities and things to do each week. Sometimes answering the simple question of where to eat or get a quick drink can be overwhelming. Each week Philly Influencer will highlight some new places and local favorites to add to your list.

Serpico: Serpico is a spacious eatery that’s directly on South Street. Enhanced by Asian fused dishes, this contemporary menu features mushroom tartar, shellfish stew, poached halibut, chicken and snail lasagna, and much more. The establishment also has a great cocktail twist on a Manhattan.

Kanella South: Right on the edge between Queens Village and Penn’s Landing is Kanella South. The Greek restaurant is a BYOB treasure, serving up some amazing Mediterranean cuisine. Come grab your taste of the Greek Isles with a menu brimming with kebabs, hummus, pita dishes, and more.

Cheu Noodle Bar: In these days, if you don’t have a favorite noodle place, you’ll get left behind. Cheu Noodle Bar has intriguing decor, serves up tasty Asian cuisine, and has a wide selection of cocktails. Try their Samosa Rangoons, Mojo Pork Dumplings, Brisket Ramen, or Coconut Curry Ramen, during any of your stops.

Fond: This week’s spotlighted eateries ends in South Philadelphia at Fond. This restaurant has some of the best appetite pleasing dishes in town. Come and dive into a plate of Corn Risotto or Lemongrass Shrimp for an appetizer. If you’re looking for something sweet to eat, look no further than their Dark Chocolate Passionfruit Crème Brulee, Almond Cake, or Blueberry Pavlova.

October Jazz Revolution: FringeArts will be celebrating the great elements of Jazz all weekend. Come to the hangout spot any day this weekend to hear the best in contemporary music and jazz. This is a four-day festival will certainly have an event you’ll want to attend.

Hip Hop vs. R&B at Aura: Speaking of music, This Friday night Aura Lounge will be hosting a genre faceoff. Sponsored by Grey Goose Vodka, this will be a night of phenomenal music, dancing, and entertainment at this upscale Philadelphia lounge.

October GVO Happy Hour at James: James Restaurant and Lounge will be hosting a unique happy hour event this Friday night. From 9PM-1AM, come out for 3 Shots of Sauza Tequlla, $5 Wine , $6 Mixed Drinks, $4 Beer, discounted Appetizers until 12PM, and $8 specialty cocktails all night.

Movies Under the Stars and Stripes: This Friday night the Betsy Ross House will be hosting a special screening of Night of the Living Dead. This is a double feature event that will have movie trivia, tours, and more activities. Guests are encouraged to bring food and wine.

Pearl Street Potluck: This Saturday is the Pearl Street Potluck hosted by the Asian Arts Initiative. This food themed block party will be filled with the delicious smells of the kitchen. From 12PM-2PM come out to this collaborative BBQ and communal gathering.

African Food Festival: This Sunday there will be an African Food Festival at the Belmont Mansion. This event will be bridged with the African Bazaar at the same location. There will be live musical performances, a fashion show, food, and much more.
