Philadelphia is a major spanning city. It’s always brimming with exiting new activities and things to do each week. Sometimes answering the simple question of where to eat or get a quick drink can be overwhelming. Each week Philly Influencer will highlight some new places and local favorites to add to your list. 

Square 1682: Inside Hotel Palomar is the American restaurant  Square 1682. The modern daily happy hour that is one of the best bets in Center City. With the Philadelphia Marathon coming up, the restaurant will be featuring a $35 “Carb Up” dinner. The three-course feast includes appetizer options such as hummus, grilled baby octopus, and a grains & greens salad. There will be pasta options for dinner and there will be a  free glass of celebratory Bubbles for runners.

Revolution House: Old City restaurant Revolution House is a multi-level rustic hotspot. From the exposed brick, to the chandeliers, and to the reclaimed decor, this establishment’s interior is one of its bright spots. The menu includes wood fired pizza, flatbread sandwiches, and hearty entrees. The restaurants also has a lengthy wine, cocktail, and beer menu.

Townsend: Townsend provides the first escape into global cuisine on this week’s features list. The East Passyunk Avenue restaurant specializes in delicious French food. The bistro is highlighted by many great dishes including Broiled East Coast Oysters and Fennel, Seared Sea Scallops, Crisp Branzino, and more. Townsend also offers an extensive tasting menu each day.

Saté Kampar: The next stop on the list perches in the same East Passyunk neighborhood. Malaysian BYOB Saté Kampar is a street style gem. The bustling eatery knows how to fuse spices, flavor, and sweetness perfectly. Come try their braised chicken and potatoes in coconut cream or the braised beef and  banana leaf combo dish for a great meal.

Bud & Marilyn’s: Bud & Marylin’s serves up some savory traditional American food each day. Chef Marcie Turney and Valerie Safran take this retro structure to new heights with their amazing menu. The Locust Street restaurant and bar includes all of the classics such as Short rib stroganoff, stuffed meatloaf, pan seard pierogies, and more.

Weekly Events Roundup

Each week, Philly Influencer picks the best parties, events, and social gatherings the area has to offer.

Taste Philly: Tonight is the Taste Philly at the Crystal Tea Room. It’s the 11th year of this annual food sampling event. From 6PM-9PM come sample the best the Philadelphia restaurants and bars have to offer. There will be complimentary beer, live music, and endless samples.

Cheers & Beers: The Betsy Ross House will be hosting a Cheers & Beers event from this week through Wednesday, December 28th. There will be ale served up at City Tavern, a history of beer discussion, music, and more.

Yards Brewery Opening: Yards Brewery will be opening its new location at 500 Spring Garden Street this Thursday. The new place has pool tables, a taproom, a “Brewer’s Lounge”, and more.

Bar 57:  This Thursday the pop up at One Observation Deck is the place to be. Bar 57 has gorgeous rooftop views, plenty of space, a great location, and an massive drink menu. The DJ will be playing the best hits at this once a month party running from 6PM-11PM.

Studs & Stogies: This Saturday Battleship New Jersey will be hosting a Studs and Stogies event. There will be holiday craft beers, live music, cigar samples, food, and more. The event runs from 1PM-5PM

Burlesque Sky Brunch: Every third Sunday of the month, Sky Philadelphia  hosts a Burlesque Sky Brunch. The 50th floor will be filled with amazing music spun by DJ Carl Michaels, a plentiful brunch buffet, and beverages. At 12PM drag performances and live entertainment.
