Alshon Jeffery bet on himself this past offseason and now the Philadelphia Eagles are all in.
Jeffery signed a four-year, $52 million extension with $27 million guaranteed on Saturday. Carson Wentz now has his two favorite weapons, Jeffery and Zack Ertz, locked up through 2021.
The cohesion between Jeffery and Wentz continues to grow each week. Jeffery has posted 265 of his 619 yards and five of his seven touchdowns the last four weeks, but it’s the recent back-shoulder chemistry that has me giddy. It’s Jeffery’s go-to route. It’s a perfect way for him to use his physicality and strong hands at the catch point, the strength of his game. This has been a throw, however, that Wentz has thrown too far inside and low all season long. The ball placement on Sunday was perfect, though, and maybe this is an area where Wentz and Jeffery can finally get perfected.
If they do, watch out NFL!
