Alshon Jeffery, Carson Wentz React to Jeffery’s New Eagles Deal

The Philadelphia Eagles just signed WR Alshon Jeffery to a four-year extension for $52 million, $27 guaranteed.

It doesn’t seem like a deal that will hamstring the Eagles – for now. Just last month, Howie Roseman re-signed Timmy Jernigan.

The Eagles released a statement after the news was made public:

“Alshon has been a tremendous addition to this organization on and off the field. We place a priority on making sure we are able to build the team around quality players like Alshon who embrace this team and this city the way he has. We are excited about his future here.”

And, of course, the man of the hour had a statement himself:

“First of all I just want to thank Jeffrey Lurie and the entire Eagles organization. Like I said the other day, I love it here. I’m blessed to have the opportunity to play for this organization and for these fans. Everyone has welcomed me with open arms and now I’m looking forward to being here for a long time. We have a great group here and I’m excited to be a part of it.”

Carson Wentz was pumped:

More reaction:

Eagles WR coach Mike Groh:

“I like the growth that they’ve had throughout the course of this season,” Groh said. “It’s obviously been a process with those two, but getting more and more comfortable each and every week and being able to do more things, understanding each other’s body language, the subtle look here, the subtle look there and being able to do some things out there during the course of a game.”
