The Phillies have traded Freddy Galvis to the San Diego Padres. Bob Nightengale and Scott Miller broke the news on Twitter Friday afternoon.

The #Phillies and #Padres are in serious talks re. a deal that would send SS Freddy Galvis to San Diego. Close enough that deal could happen today.

The Phillies reportedly traded Freddy Galvis to the Padres for minor league pitcher Enyel De Los Santos.
This trade makes sense as the Phillies already have their shortstop of the future in JP Crawford and have a need for pitching. De Los Santos is one of the more highly regarded prospects in the Padres system.

Including this trade, the Phillies have added three pitchers to their roster in the past week. They re-signed Pat Neshek, picked up Tommy Hunter, and now traded for De Los Santos. It’s becoming clear how Matt Klentak and the coaching staff view pitching and the pitching market.
The Phillies are being very aggressive heading into the 2018 campaign and I love it. Make sure to follow Phillyinfluencer.com for updates.
