The Philadelphia Eagles doubled up on the offensive line with their final two picks in the 2018 NFL Draft.
The Eagles traded up from the 250th overall selection to No. 233 so they could take tackle Jordan Mailata, a member of the Australian Rugby team. Philadelphia sent a 2019 seventh-rounder to New England so it could vault up into the final round of the draft.
This pick was made on the heels of the Birds taking OL Matt Pryor in the sixth round. Both prospects are mammoth offensive linemen, with Pryor at 6’7 340 pounds and Mailata checking in at 6’8, 345. Here was my live reaction of the selection.
Mailata has no football experience, but he had not trouble running over people on the rugby field.
