Opening This Week: Spice Finch

Top Chef’s Jennifer Carroll and Bill Riddle have created a perfect match between Mediterranean and Middle Eastern cuisines at this new Rittenhouse Square eatery. Spice Finch is a collaborative effort between the duo that features indoor, outdoor, and private dining seating areas. There’s something for each preference at this savory hotspot. There are also several classics, frozen, redemption, and specialty cocktails.

Center City Sips Picks: Bank and Bourbon, Devil’s Alley, Maggiano’s Little Italy

Each Wednesday between the hours of 5PM-7PM the areas of Avenue of the Arts, Center City East, Center City West, and Rittenhouse Square participate in Center City Sips. Over 80 participating locations have $6 cocktails, $5 wines, $4 beers, and appetizer discounts. Here are this week’s best deals.

Bank and Bourbon: Stop by this market street American eatery for their signature Where’s Wesley (Sauza Hornitos, Aperol, lemon, and simple syrup) and Urban Sombrero ( Sauza Hornitos, cassis, grenadine, and lemon) cocktails. They also have $5 Pio Pinot Grigio Delle Venzie and Invitation Pinot Noir.

Devil’s Alley: Further down Chestnut Street lies Devil’s Alley. The Sips menu includes Devil’s Run Punch, Hornitos Paloma, and White Peach Sangria cocktails. Fried Green Tomatoes, Jerk Chicken Tacos, Spicy Dry Rub Wings, and more on the appetizer discount menu.

Maggiano’s Little Italy: Maggiano’s Little Italy features $4Salmon Creek Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Pinot Noir. The Italian restaurant has half-priced Crispy Zucchini Fritté, Bruschetta, Mozzarella Marinara, Stuffed Mushrooms, and Signature Flatbreads.

Old City Eats Picks: Continental Restaurant, The Gaslight, Sassafras

Each Thursday between the hours of 5 pm-8 pm Philadelphia participates in Old City Eats. Over 25 participating locations have half-priced appetizers, $4 beers, $5 cocktails, and other drink specials.

Continental Restaurant: The Continental Restaurant and Martini Bar is one of the most recognizable and popular establishments in Old City. Stop by for cheesesteak egg rolls with sriracha ketchup, a Honeysuckle cocktail (Single Prop Rum, Lime Juice, Honey), and more at the throwback eatery.

The Gaslight: Market Street pub grub restaurant The Gaslight has discounts on all appetizers on the menu. From BBQ pork tacos, hummus plates, to bourbon honey wings, there’s something for everyone. You can also grab two specialty cocktails featuring Faber Liquors while you’re there.

Sassafras: Wood paneled hideaway Sassafras, includes half-priced deviled eggs, chips & dip, wings, bacon-wrapped hot dogs, and more on its Eats deal menu. Pair the small plates with a  Barbados Redux cocktail featuring Single Prop Rum or a Troegs Sunshine Pils.

University City Dining Days Continue: University City Dining Days will run through Sunday, June 22nd. Guests at several participating restaurants can get three-course meals for $15, $25, and $35 over the next few days.

Ardmore and Ambler Restaurant Week: For those in the outer region, there are several restaurant week options for you. Ardmore Restaurant Week and Ambler Restaurant Week began this Monday. The wallet-friendly restaurant weeks offer up three-course prix-fixed menus starting at just $15. Ardmore’s runs through Sunday, July 29th and Ambler’s ends on Monday, July 23rd.

Parks on Tap: Burlhome ParkParks on Tap will be at this week. The roaming beer garden will have local craft beers, food trucks, free yoga, the Ryerss Museum and Library will be hosting free tours, and there will be a film screening.

South Street Safari: Philadelphia Magic Gardens will be hosting a South Street Safari scavenger hunt this Thursday from 6 pm- 8:30 pm. Come out for a night of rummaging around  South Street and Bella Vista to find hidden gems in mosaics and other pieces.

Rodin Museum Garden Bar: The Rodin Museum is one of the scenic institutions on the parkway. The art museum will be opening a Garden Bar this Friday. There will be beer, wine, and small plates available for purchase. There will also be gallery access and live music.

The Oval Returns: This Friday is the opening day for The Oval. The ending loop of the parkway will be once again filling the area with food trucks, light structures, movie screenings, radio game shows, workshops, DJ dance parties, and more.

Issa Whine Caribbean Dance Party:  This Thursday night come out to Silk city for Issa Whine Caribbean Dance Party. Reggae hits will be flooding the venue via DJs AMH and Lean Wit It. There will be  $7 rum punch and Crown Royal specials all night long.

Summerfest Live!: This Saturday is Summerfest Live! at Xfinity Live! This craft beer festival will feature samples from hundreds of beers at the entertainment venue. There will be food, several prizes and giveaways, a flip cup tournament, live music, karaoke, and more.

SmörgåsBeer: Another beer festival taking place this Saturday is SmörgåsBeer at the American Swedish Historical Museum. The FDR Park institution will be featuring brews from Yards Brewing Company, Saint Benjamin Brewing Company, Neshaminy Creek Brewing Company, Crooked Eye Brewery, and several others. WXPN host & DJ Robert Drake will be providing the soundtrack for the event. There will be prizes, food, games, and more.

Day Dream Day Party: This Sunday Golf and Social will be hosting a Day Dream Day Party right on the waterfront. The rooftop soiree will feature bottomless mimosas until 7 pm, the latest hits, and a packed dance floor.
