1. Closing This Week: Philadelphia Open Studio Tours

This Sunday is the last day for Open Studio Tours. Bring your friends out to see talented artisans and creatives in their spaces painting, sculpting, sketching, and more. Finished work and gallery pieces will also be on display throughout the entire series.

2. Philly Psychedelia Exhibitions
Where: Paradigm Gallery + Studio, 746 S 4th St.

Paradigm Gallery has been showcasing some fantastic and eye-popping exhibitions over the past month. Hilary White, PJ Linden, and Hunter Stabler. There are wonderful and spellbinding sculptures works. Come see these unique and one-of-a-kind masterpieces before it’s too late.

3. Romeo & Juliet
Where: Academy of Music, 240 S. Broad St.
When: Runs through Sunday, October 21st
Continuing with the arts, the Academy of Music will be to place to be as the Pennsylvania Ballet’s production of Romeo and Juliet will be illuminating the stage throughout the month. Prokofiev’s famous score will be brought to life by these great performers at this wondrous location. This is an enchanting ballet that you don’t want to miss.

4. Young Involved Philadelphia

State of Young Philadelphia 208 begins this week and runs through Saturday, October 20th. 5. PHeaSt uCity Square
Where: PHS Pop-Up Garden uCity Square, 60 N. 36th St.
When: Friday, October 12th, 7PM-10PM
The Pennsylvania Horticultural Society presents PHeaSt uCity Square this Friday night. The PHS Pop-Up Garden uCity Square at 36th and Filbert Streets will be filled with the aroma of great culinary bites, cocktails, and more. There will be live music and more at this harvest moon outdoor party.

6. Fright Factory

7. October at Franklin Square

When: October weekends
Franklin Square will have several events at the entertainment hotspot this weekend. Through the month of October, there will Spooky Mini Golf each weekend from 6PM-9PM. This Sunday bring your dogs out for the new Bark-or-Treat Trail.

8. Cherry Street Pier
Where: Cherry Street Pier, 121 N Christopher Columbus Blvd.
When: Opens Friday, October 12th, 5PM-11PM
55,000 square foot Cherry Street Pier is now open to the public. There will be a grand opening party this Friday. There will be artist studios, marketplaces, installations, exhibitions, public programming, and several culinary experiences. There will be a Festival for the People beginning this Friday and running through Sunday, October 28th. The park hours are Sunday – Thursday, 11am-10pm and Friday and Saturday, 11am-11pm.

9. Maroon 5
Where: Wells Fargo Center, 3601 S. Broad St.
When: Friday, October 12th, 8PM
Maroon 5 will be playing at the Wells Fargo Center this Friday with opening act Julia Michaels. The rumored Super Bowl 53 halftime act released their 6th studio album in 2017 titled Red Pill Blues. The pop-rock band will be rocking the arena in front of all their Philadelphia fans.

10. Harvest Festival at Reading Terminal Market
Where: Reading Terminal Market, 51 N. 12th St.
When: Saturday, October 13th, 10AM-4PM
The 2017 Reading Terminal Market Harvest festival is this Saturday. Filbert Street will be shut down to accommodate this massive local event. This cool urban farm will have hay bales all around, corn stalks, a beer garden, rides, a pumpkin patch where your entire family can take pictures, live music, crafts, food, and more.

11. Trick or Treat at the Academy
Where: The Academy of Natural Sciences of Drexel University, 1900 Benjamin Franklin Pkwy.
When: Saturdays and Sundays through October 28th
Every weekend through the month of October The Academy of Natural Sciences of Drexel University has a special trick-or-treat offer. At the exhibits Outside In, Butterflies!, Xtreme Bugs and The Big Dig guests get to see special Halloween-themed creatures from the collection. There will also be take-home seasonal souvenirs. If you wear a costume, you’ll get $2 off admission.

12. Weekend at Penn Museum
Where: Penn Museum, 3260 South St.
When: Saturday, October 13th and Sunday, October 14th
Family Second Saturdays comes to Penn Museum each month. Fantastic Folklore is an interactive and family-friendly way to discover highlights of the museum. There will be make-and-take art and plenty of other activities. They also have weekend public tours of the Egypt and Middle East Galleries, and several other events on Sunday.

13. Vikings: Beyond the Legend
Where: The Franklin Institute, 222 N. 20th St.
When: Saturday, October 13th-Sunday, March 3rd
Vikings: Beyond the Legend opens this Saturday at The Franklin Institute. This special Vikings Festival will include 600 Artifacts, a Full-size 21-foot replica Viking Ship, and Norse mythology. There will be special Viking names, fun activities, and more.

14. Boo at the Zoo
Where: Philadelphia Zoo, 3400 W. Girard Ave.
When: October 13th, 14th, 20th, 21st, 27th & 28th
The Philadelphia Zoo will be having a unique and one-of-a-kind event over the next two weeks. Boo at the Zoo will have a trick-or-treat safari, an extinction graveyard, seasonal treats, a hay bale maze, and a spanning pumpkin wall. 17. Philly Cheesesteak and Food Festival

The 2018 Philly’s Cheesesteak and Food Festival kicks off this Saturday afternoon. Citizens Bank Park will be laced with the aroma of grilled steak, grilled onions, and cheese all day. There will be dozens of vendors, a Kids corner with face painting and games, a cheesesteak eating contest, live music, food trucks, an appearance by the Phillie Phantaic, carnival games, and more.

18. Kennett Brewfest

Kennett Square is an hour outside of the city however its massive craft beer celebration this weekend is certainly worth mentioning.
