1. Closing This Week: Philadelphia Open Studio Tours

When: Runs through Sunday, October 14th

This Sunday is the last day for Open Studio Tours. Bring your friends out to see talented artisans and creatives in their spaces painting, sculpting, sketching, and more. Finished work and gallery pieces will also be on display throughout the entire series.

2. Philly Psychedelia Exhibitions

Where: Paradigm Gallery + Studio, 746 S 4th St.
When: Runs through Saturday, October 20th

Paradigm Gallery has been showcasing some fantastic and eye-popping exhibitions over the past month. Hilary White, PJ Linden, and Hunter Stabler. There are wonderful and spellbinding sculptures works. Come see these unique and one-of-a-kind masterpieces before it’s too late.

3. Romeo & Juliet 

Where: Academy of Music, 240 S. Broad St.
When: Runs through Sunday, October 21st

Continuing with the arts, the Academy of Music will be to place to be as the Pennsylvania Ballet’s production of Romeo and Juliet will be illuminating the stage throughout the month. Prokofiev’s famous score will be brought to life by these great performers at this wondrous location. This is an enchanting ballet that you don’t want to miss.

4. Young Involved Philadelphia

When: Runs through Saturday, October 20th

State of Young Philadelphia 208 begins this week and runs through Saturday, October 20th. There will be several speaking engagements, panels, workshops to help “build relationships and increases civic engagement to empower and connect young Philadelphians.” Be sure to check out the calendar for all the events.

5. PHeaSt uCity Square

Where: PHS Pop-Up Garden uCity Square, 60 N. 36th St.
When: Friday, October 12th, 7PM-10PM

The Pennsylvania Horticultural Society presents PHeaSt uCity Square this Friday night. The PHS Pop-Up Garden uCity Square at 36th and Filbert Streets will be filled with the aroma of great culinary bites, cocktails, and more. There will be live music and more at this harvest moon outdoor party.

6. Fright Factory

Where: Fright Factory,  2200 S Swanson St. 
When: Runs through Wednesday, October 31st

The Halloween season is in full swing! The Fright Factory has been one of the main attractions to inject instant horror and terror into your veins. Come to this structure with your friends and family for the scare of your life now through the end of the month.

7. October at Franklin Square

Where: Franklin Square, 200 N 6th St.
When: October weekends

Franklin Square will have several events at the entertainment hotspot this weekend. Through the month of October, there will Spooky Mini Golf each weekend from 6PM-9PM. This Sunday bring your dogs out for the new Bark-or-Treat Trail.

8. Cherry Street Pier

Where: Cherry Street Pier, 121 N Christopher Columbus Blvd.
When: Opens Friday, October 12th, 5PM-11PM

55,000 square foot Cherry Street Pier is now open to the public. There will be a grand opening party this Friday. There will be artist studios, marketplaces, installations, exhibitions, public programming, and several culinary experiences. There will be a Festival for the People beginning this Friday and running through Sunday, October 28th. The park hours are Sunday – Thursday, 11am-10pm and Friday and Saturday, 11am-11pm.

9. Maroon 5

Where: Wells Fargo Center, 3601 S. Broad St.
When: Friday, October 12th, 8PM

Maroon 5 will be playing at the Wells Fargo Center this Friday with opening act Julia Michaels. The rumored Super Bowl 53 halftime act released their 6th studio album in 2017 titled Red Pill Blues. The pop-rock band will be rocking the arena in front of all their Philadelphia fans.

10. Harvest Festival at Reading Terminal Market

Where: Reading Terminal Market, 51 N. 12th St.
When: Saturday, October 13th, 10AM-4PM

The 2017 Reading Terminal Market Harvest festival is this Saturday. Filbert Street will be shut down to accommodate this massive local event. This cool urban farm will have hay bales all around, corn stalks, a beer garden, rides, a pumpkin patch where your entire family can take pictures, live music, crafts, food, and more.

11. Trick or Treat at the Academy

Where: The Academy of Natural Sciences of Drexel University, 1900 Benjamin Franklin Pkwy.
When: Saturdays and Sundays through October 28th

Every weekend through the month of October The Academy of Natural Sciences of Drexel University has a special trick-or-treat offer. At the exhibits Outside InButterflies!, Xtreme Bugs and The Big Dig guests get to see special Halloween-themed creatures from the collection. There will also be take-home seasonal souvenirs. If you wear a costume, you’ll get $2 off admission.

12. Weekend at Penn Museum 

Families in the Museum

Where: Penn Museum, 3260 South St.
When: Saturday, October 13th and Sunday, October 14th

Family Second Saturdays comes to Penn Museum each month. Fantastic Folklore is an interactive and family-friendly way to discover highlights of the museum. There will be make-and-take art and plenty of other activities.  They also have weekend public tours of the Egypt and Middle East Galleries, and several other events on Sunday.

13. Vikings: Beyond the Legend

Where: The Franklin Institute, 222 N. 20th St.
When: Saturday, October 13th-Sunday, March 3rd

Vikings: Beyond the Legend opens this Saturday at The Franklin Institute. This special Vikings Festival will include 600 Artifacts, a Full-size 21-foot replica Viking Ship, and Norse mythology. There will be special Viking names, fun activities, and more.

14. Boo at the Zoo

Where: Philadelphia Zoo, 3400 W. Girard Ave.
When: October 13th, 14th, 20th, 21st, 27th & 28th

The Philadelphia Zoo will be having a unique and one-of-a-kind event over the next two weeks. Boo at the Zoo will have a trick-or-treat safari, an extinction graveyard, seasonal treats, a hay bale maze, and a spanning pumpkin wall. Bring all your kids and family out to this amazing annual event. A spooky overnight experience is also offered.

15. Conshohocken Beer Festival

Where: A. A. Garthwaite Stadium, 100, 198 E. 11th Ave.
When: Saturday, October 13th, 1PM-5PM

The Conshohocken Beer Festival is this Saturday at A. A. Garthwaite Stadium. There will be over 50 local vendors on location peddling the best regional and national craft beers. There will also be plenty of food vendors, games, activities, live music, and more at this massive gathering.

16. Fishtown RiverCity Festival

When: Saturday, October 13th, 12PM-6PM

The Fishtown RiverCity Festival is this Saturday. There will be plenty of family-friendly and engaging activities at this event. The festival will have live musical entertainment, food, vendors, face painting, and so much more.

17. Philly Cheesesteak and Food Festival

Where: 2300 Arena, 2300 S Swanson St.
When: Saturday, October 13th, 1PM-6PM

The 2018 Philly’s Cheesesteak and Food Festival kicks off this Saturday afternoon. Citizens Bank Park will be laced with the aroma of grilled steak, grilled onions, and cheese all day. There will be dozens of vendors, a Kids corner with face painting and games, a cheesesteak eating contest, live music, food trucks, an appearance by the Phillie Phantaic, carnival games, and more.

18. Kennett Brewfest

When: Saturday, October 13th, 1:30PM-5:30PM

Kennett Square is an hour outside of the city however its massive craft beer celebration this weekend is certainly worth mentioning. The 21st Annual Kennett Brewfest is this Saturday and will have tons of breweries represents, food vendors, live music, merchandise and clothing merchants, a gamer area, and many more activities.

19. Bloktoberfest

Where: South Street between Broad St. and 18th St.
When: Saturday, October 13th, 12PM- 8PM

Several local businesses, bars, and restaurants will flood South Street this Saturday. There will be beer, live music, food trucks, entertainment, and more. This annual community festival brings the masses out each year.

20. Philadelphia Unity Cup Championship 

Where: Talen Energy Stadium, 1 Stadium Dr, Chester, PA
When: Saturday, October 13th, 12PM-8PM

The Ivory Coast will be taking on Liberia this Saturday in the Philadelphia Unity Cup Championship. Talen Energy Stadium will be flooded with fans of both nations as they look to face off in the battle of skill, athleticism, and will.

21. Golden Knights vs. Flyers

Where: Wells Fargo Center, 3601 S. Broad St.
When: Saturday, October 13th, 1PM

The Philadelphia Flyers have split their first four games of the season. This Saturday afternoon they’ll be taking on the Las Vegas Golden Knights. Come cheer on the home team as they try to get over the .500 mark in front of a crazy crowd.

22. Bartram’s Gardens Harvest Festival

When: Sunday, October 14th, 12PM-3PM

Bartram’s Gardens will be having a free-to-enter Harvest Fest this Sunday. There will be hayrides, cider, delicious foods, lawn games for the entire family, face painting, yoga, and more. The event will also have informative workshops, boating, cooking demonstrations, and tons of fun.

23. Pickledelphia Pickle Festival

Where: The Schmidt’s Commons, 1001 N 2nd St.
When: Sunday, October 14th, 1PM-6PM

The Schmidt’s Commons will be filled with pickled inspired dishes, cocktails, brews, and more. The 2018 Pickledelphia Pickle Festival will have live entertainment, outdoor games, pickle vendors, and more. The open-air piazza will be a great location for this festive event.

24. Florence + The Machine

Where: Wells Fargo Center, 3601 S. Broad St.
When: Sunday, October 14th, 7PM

Florence + The Machine’s High As Hope Tour will be filling the Wells Fargo Center this Sunday. Radio 104.5 presents this special night with this six-time Grammy award-winner. Guest Grizzly Bear will be the opening act for a night of fantastic musical hits.
